Main Idea: Tests reveal truth

Matthew 4:1-11

Three Temptations
  • Turn stones into bread
    • Response “Life is only found in YHWH”
  • Throw yourself off
    • Response “Trust YHWH
  • You can have the kingdoms
    • Response “Only YHWH is worthy”

Sub Point 1:  When attacks come, fix your eyes on YHWH

  • Satan likes to get you to question your identity and twist the voice of God
Sub Point 2: Scripture is important but God’s voice is importanter
  •  Just because someone can quote scripture does not mean they are speaking on behalf of God
SubPoint 3: Don’t engage evil on its terms
  • “Get out of here”
Life Change Challenge: When tested, remember that everything we truly need, He is
  • The trials and tests in our lives reveal what we truly believe about God
