John 1:35-2:12

  • The story: Jesus starts calling his disciples and then claims He is the stairway to heaven (Gen 28:10-17), then starts showing “signs”.
  • Then a wedding?

Sub Point 1: Jesus can turn your shame into honor

  • The “days” (John 1:29, 35, 43, 2:1)
    • In Genesis 1, God turns chaos (water) into order.
    • On “day 7”(God with humanity) Jesus turns (water) chaos into order.

Sub Point 2: There is nothing that Jesus cannot heal in your life
  • We fall into the trap of thinking we are beyond repair, But Jesus ain’t done with you
  • Our response, “Do whatever He tells you” (Pharaoh and Joseph, Gen 41:55)
SubPoint 3: Obedient faith provides opportunity for miracles
  • “I want a miracle in my life but I don’t want to listen to Jesus”
  • When we pray for God to work, we ought to be looking for the path he provided
Application: Surrender your shame to Jesus and do whatever He tells you
